Operation Doctor Doctor | Seminole Florida

Operation Doctor Doctor
Drug Defense Attorney Michael P. Maddux and I continue to be amazed at the lengths to which Pinellas County Sheriffs Office Drug Detectives will go for publicity in their efforts to "win" the war on drugs where suspects are allegedly using drugs for personal use. The latest inane mission received a typically flashy code name "Operation Doctor Doctor." Apparently the cops are huge Thompson Twins fans and named the operation after the hit song from the 80's

The deputies executed Search Warrants in Seminole, Florida, on the doctors and then arrested them in plain daylight at their offices. It is no coincidence that the media seemed to immediately be on scene to film this embarrassing incident. Now Mr. Maddux and I know why (See Link Below for the Press Release). The cops issued a press release to turn this into a publicity stunt.

It states, in part, "Detectives have arrested two Seminole physicians following a search warrant that was served at their practices. According to detectives, the two were writing prescriptions to each other for as many as 200 pills a month for medications to include Hydrocodone, Lorazepam and Oxycodone.
